History

The 1980s & 1990s

Dansensor Systems A/S was founded in 1982 and undertook primarily oxygen analysis in connection with combustion control in e.g. power plants and crematoriums. Dansensor Systems A/S had a handful of people employed when PBI-Holding, Ringsted A/S took over the company in 1989.

In 1989, after the purchase, PBI-Dansensor continued its activities from the company address in Tølløse, Zealand. However, the development activities were controlled by the sister company PBI-Development A/S. In 1992 PBI-Dansensor A/S moved to the address of PBI-Development in Ringsted. In this connection the two companies merged, first organisational, later legally.

After PBI-Holding took over the company in 1989 a more goal oriented international product development began. The primary focus was on off-line and on-line gas analysis and flushing control in connection with MAP technology used for food packaging. This led to the fact that in the early 1990s a rapid growth rate began.

In 1997 PBI-Dansensor moved to new premises at Rønnedevej 18 in Ringsted. The company controls a production area of 2500 m2 - where construction, design, software and sensor production is handled.

New product developments

About the same time the company moved, a new development of the products towards the electronics industry began. This quickly became PBI-Dansensor's second largest chief market.

In the upcoming years up to year 2000 the rapid growth continued and in this way the company became a leading supplier of gas analysis and electronically integrated gas flushing systems for the food, electronics and metal industries.

In 2001 the development of a new and still revolutionising technology - an “On-line leak tester” was introduced. This equipment is capable of performing an extremely fast leak test of all shipping cartons directly from the packaging machine. The system was introduced at the Anuga exhibition in Cologne, Germany and received a lot of attention.

PBI-Dansensor opens subsidiaries
